Evesham Special Brussel Sprouts

A traditional British favourite and a true garden classic! Evesham Special produces heavy crops of firm, tightly packed sprouts that appear early in the season and keep coming for months. Compact, hardy, and ideal for smaller gardens or exposed plots — this variety is a must for anyone who loves a long, delicious harvest of homegrown sprouts!

Harvest

From September to February, when sprouts are firm, full, and about the size of a walnut.

Growing Instructions

• Planting: Space 60cm apart in firm, well-drained soil, in a sunny but sheltered position.
• Watering: Keep well-watered until established and during dry spells.
• Protection: Cover plants with netting or fleece to protect from cabbage white butterflies and pigeons.
• Support: As the plants grow taller, stake them to stop them from blowing over in strong winds.

• Firmer Flavour: Sprouts taste even sweeter after a light frost — nature’s perfect seasoning!
• Healthy Soil: Avoid planting brassicas in the same spot each year to prevent clubroot.
