Golden Beetroot
Bring a burst of colour to your garden and kitchen with this stunning Golden Beetroot! Its rich yellow-orange flesh is beautifully sweet, smooth in texture, and holds its colour perfectly when cooked. Easy to grow and wonderfully versatile — roast, pickle, or slice raw into salads for a pop of golden goodness. Even the tender leaves can be eaten raw or cooked like spinach for a nutritious bonus harvest!

Harvest
June to October – fleece from frost to extend harvesting through winter. Clean roots and store in a cool, airy space.

Growing Instructions

  • Planting: Do not separate — plant the plug as a bunch so they can spread naturally.

  • Spacing: Space 15–20cm apart in well-drained soil.

  • Positioning: Choose full sun or partial shade.

  • Watering: Keep well watered until established and during dry spells.

Top Tips

  • Succession Planting: Sow or plant every 4 weeks for a continuous crop.

  • Full Flavour: Harvest when roots are about the size of a golf ball for the sweetest taste.

  • Leaf Bonus: Use the golden-green leaves in salads or cook them like spinach.

  • Colour Keeper: Unlike red varieties, golden beets won’t bleed — perfect for colourful dishes!

  • Winter Harvest: Protect with fleece to enjoy fresh beets right through the colder months.
