Golden Sunrise Tomatoes

Bright, golden, and bursting with flavour — Golden Sunrise is an early-maturing tomato that brings sunshine straight to your salad bowl! These beautiful golden-yellow, medium-sized fruits are wonderfully fleshy and sweet, with a rich taste you’ll never find in supermarket tomatoes. Reliable, productive, and absolutely stunning on the vine, this is a real treat for any tomato lover.

Best Time to Plant

Greenhouse: April
Outdoors: 3rd week of May, once all frost risk has passed
Frost may turn the leaves blue temporarily — plants usually recover unless the main stem collapses (rare).

Harvest

Around 8 weeks after planting, once fruits are deep golden yellow and fully swollen.

Growing Instructions

Planting: Space 45cm apart in well-drained soil, a large pot, or a growbag in a greenhouse.
Hardening Off: Without a greenhouse, grow indoors until frost danger is gone, then acclimatise outdoors over 4–6 days.
Watering: Keep soil evenly moist — steady watering helps avoid splitting and blossom end rot.
Training:
– Train plants clockwise up a 6ft string or cane.
– Pinch out all side shoots to keep plants strong and productive.
– When the plant reaches the top, loop it over and let it trail down, still removing shoots.
Feeding: Only feed once 3–4 fruits per truss have begun to swell — never earlier.
Maintenance: Remove any yellow or dead leaves; pinch out the growing tip in mid-August to ripen remaining fruits.

Top Tips

Consistent Watering: Keep moisture levels steady to avoid cracked skins or blotchy ripening.
No Manure: Avoid farmyard manure — herbicide residues can damage tomato crops.
Sunshine Sweetness: The warmer and sunnier the spot, the sweeter your Golden Sunrise tomatoes will be.
Colour Clue: Leave fruits on the vine until they reach their full golden glow for maximum flavour.
