Fiery, compact, and perfect for patios or windowsills! Hot Thai produces a mass of tiny 2cm chillies that ripen from green to bright red with a medium heat. Ideal for snipping fresh, drying, or turning into your own homemade chilli powder.
June to October — pick when swollen, glossy, and vibrant.
• Planting: 45cm apart in well-drained soil or a pot.
• Position: Sunny but sheltered. Thrives in a greenhouse but will grow on a conservatory sill or sunny patio (smaller yields outdoors).
• Watering: Keep soil moist until established and during dry spells, but not soggy.
• Support: Stake plants at around 30cm tall as chillies start to form.
• Feeding: Only feed once 2–3 chillies are developing — not before.
• Hands Off: Wash your hands immediately after handling chillies.
• Warm Feet: Chillies grow best in pots or grow bags that warm up quickly.
• Pick to Encourage: If only one chilli is forming, pick it to stimulate more growth.
• Moisture Matters: Keep soil evenly moist for a steady, healthy crop.
