These potatoes are the ultimate all-rounder! Famous for their fluffy texture and golden finish, they make the perfect roasties, creamy mash, or the crispiest homemade chips. High-yielding and easy to grow, this dependable variety produces uniform, white-fleshed tubers with unbeatable flavour straight from your garden.

Harvest
Around 12–14 weeks after planting, once the foliage starts to yellow and die back. Lift carefully, leave to dry, and store in a cool, dark place for months of delicious spuds.

Growing Instructions

  • Planting: Space seed potatoes 30cm apart in rows 60cm apart, about 10–15cm deep.

  • Soil: Prefers rich, well-drained soil — dig in plenty of compost before planting.

  • Watering: Keep soil moist, especially while tubers are forming, to prevent scab and encourage even growth.

  • Earthing Up: As shoots appear, regularly cover with soil to protect from frost and increase yield.

  • Sunlight: Choose a sunny position for best results.

Top Tips

  • Perfect Chips: For extra-crispy chips, soak cut potatoes in cold water before frying.

  • Continuous Cropping: Grow in large containers or potato bags for easy lifting and less digging.

  • Frost Watch: Cover early shoots with fleece or soil if frost is forecast.

  • Storage Secret: Allow skins to harden for a few days before storing to extend shelf life.
