A vigorous plum variety, perfect for sauces, soups, and pasta dishes. Each tomato is fleshy, 90–120g, with few seeds and easy-to-peel skins, while still delicious fresh. Rich, slightly different flavour that adds depth to every dish.
Roughly 8 weeks after planting — pick when tomatoes are red, swollen, and glossy.
• Planting: 45cm apart in well-drained soil, a large pot, or grow bag.
• Position: Sunny, sheltered spot; greenhouse is ideal, but can also grow in a conservatory or bright window before acclimatising outdoors.
• Watering: Keep soil moist until established and during dry periods, avoiding waterlogging.
• Support: Semi-bush type — provide stakes or strings if needed; trim side shoots if the plant becomes wild.
• Feeding: Only feed once 3–4 tomatoes are starting to swell.
• Side Shoot Management: Trim side shoots to focus energy on fruit development.
• Even Watering: Irregular watering can cause splitting or poor fruit set.
• Avoid Farmyard Manure: Chemicals in straw bedding can harm your crop.
• Sunshine & Space: Keep leaves clear of fruits to maximise sunlight and airflow for healthier tomatoes.
