(Perennial)
Our native strawberry, smaller than the cultivated varieties with a running habit, ideal for growing somewhere it can run wild. Producing much smaller fruit, the taste is stronger and sweeter, but has a shorter shelf life, so eat soon after picking. Traditionally used in remedies as a laxative and diuretic.
Planting
Plant in beds or containers, in well-drained soil or compost, in full sun or partial shade.
Care
Keep well watered and protect from slugs, snails and greedy birds! Remove any runners.
Height & Spread:
10 – 20cm × 20 – 30cm.
Harvesting
