Expect heavy yields of double pods packed with super-sweet peas — perfect for snacking straight from the pod or tossing into a summer salad. Keep them coming and you’ll be harvesting right through to November!
From June to November, once the pods have filled out and are plump with peas.
• Planting: Space seeds or plugs 10cm apart in well-drained soil, in a sunny but sheltered spot.
• Support: As plants grow, provide support with pea sticks, twigs, or trellis.
• Alternative Method: Or for an easier (and more fun) approach — just plant them 10cm apart and let them sprawl naturally. You’ll need to hunt for the pods, but kids love the challenge!
• Watering: Keep well-watered, especially during dry spells, to encourage full, juicy pods.
• Continuous Supply: Plant a fresh batch every 4 weeks for non-stop picking.
• Sweetest Flavour: Pick pods young and tender — the younger they are, the sweeter they taste.
• Family Fun: Turn harvesting into a game of “pea hide-and-seek” for little helpers!
